Start measuring from the ferry port at Larsnes on road 61, and get the ferry across to Sandsøya (Voksa). From the ferry port drive 4.3 km and turn left towards "Sandshamn". Drive another 300 metres and turn right towards "Sandshamn", and then turn left towards "Helland" after another 1.0 km. Drive 3.9 km and park at the car park at the end of the road.
Start your hike by following the white poles up towards the saddle between Rinden and Dollsteinen, across some slightly boggy sections. From the saddle turn right and follow the slightly steep path all the way up to the summit.
Descend by reversing your ascent route.

My colleague Trond was a little ahead of me on his route from Rinden to Dollsteinhola to Dollsteinen, but waited for me at the pass between Rinden and Dollsteinen. From here we walked together up to the summit, in some fairly steep terrain, before we had a short summit stop. We realised we were already too late to catch the 14:40 ferry so no need to rush things, but at the same time we were quite keen to find somewhere we could get something to eat and/or drink. But no luck, so we ended up driving around for quite a while before settling at the ferry port and waited for the ferry back to Larsnes.
