From the junction between road 661 and the Ellings°y-road at Stette, drive towards Ellings°y. 9.2 km from this junction you arrive Ellings°y after having crossed the Taftasundet bridge. Drive another 13.2 km until you get to a round about, where you take the second exit. 900 metres from the round about turn right where signed for Hoffland. Turn left in the T-junction after 30 metres, and then turn right when you get to the school after another 400 metres. Drive 60 metres up this road and turn left. Drive this road to its end; a little more than 200 metres. Look for parking here, or drive back to the school and park there.
If you found parking at the end of the road continue in the same direction as the road, and turn right immediately after the last house. Walk along the two houses and find a path that runs a little towards left (north/north-west) through the forest. Follow this road north-west all the way to the summit, where you find a trigonometric point marker.
Descend by reversing your ascent route.
19. February 2011
I had hiked Myklebusthornet earlier today, on my way from Brattvňg to Valder°ya for a boys-10 handball match. Since I had plenty of time to spare I decided to visit Kverveaksla. I wasn't 100% sure about where to find the trail head, but a nice house owner confirmed by suspicion that I had found trail head, and kindly allowed me to park outside his drive.
From here it was easy hiking up to the summit, and the normally wet sections didn't cause any other problems than that I had to be a little careful with some icy patches. At the summit I enjoyed some fine views, in improved weather conditions. And with hardly any wind at all I spent quite a while at the summit, taking photos and simply enjoying being out.
After having descended to the car I drove to the local shop and bought a couple
of rolls and a Coke. Then I proceeded to Giskehallen at Valder°ya, where "my" 10
year old boys lost their match 10-9.
