Fagerheim Fjellstove is located along road 7, in the eastern part across Hardangervidda plateau, approximately 12.5 km south-west of Haugastøl. You can park at the large car park in front of the hotel buildings, noting that there is a fee (NOK 50 per 2012).
From the car park you see a distinct top, with a cairn, towards north. This is a false summit, 230 metres south of Øklenutan summit. A path starts between the buildings and can be followed up to the false summit, and then onwards to the summit, which is marked by a cairn.
Descend by reversing your ascent route.
26. July 2012
I was on my way from Jondal to Nesbyen and had already hiked Grytehorga and Steinbunuten earlier this gorgeous Thursday. My third and last planned hike of the day was the short hike to Øklenutan. This was an exceptionally short and easy hike, but with very nice views.
Close to the summit I met a man running across the small plateau, and when I got
back to the false summit upon descent I overtook him (he had stopped to enjoy
the views). From here I
continued my descent together with him and had an interesting and fine chat.
It's usually never hard to get someone from Bergen to talk ...
