Description

Galdhøpiggen is the highest mountain in Norway and the Nordic countries, and one of the most prominent European mountains. Being the highest mountain of a country usually means a lot of visitors, and Galdhøpiggen is no exception with 25-30,000 visitors every year.
There are two common routes to Galdhøpiggen; one from Juvvasshytta requiring a glacier crossing, and one from Spiterstulen. The former is more popular because of the shorter hike, but does require a roped team when crossing the glacier (except during winter and spring).
Galdhøpiggen was first climbed in 1850.
