Description

Harøyburet is the highest point on the island Harøy, and also the highest point in the municipality Sandøy. Its location is well out at sea, but there is a very fine view from the summit, both towards surrounding islands, as well as towards the Romsdal and Sunnmøre mountains.
The border between Sweden and Norway, back in 1658-1659, ran across Harøy around the location of Harøyburet. The exact location of the border can be seen close to the trail head at Hagen.
