Description

Helvellyn is a prominent mountain located in the Lake District, in the north-west part of England. It is the third highest English mountain, and offers some interesting routes to its summit.
The Helvellyn summit plateau was the location of the first aeroplane landing on a British mountain, on 22.12.1926. The aeroplane also took off from the mountain.
