NOTE: there are inconsistencies between maps re the altitude of the this saddle; 604m is as fixed point on some maps, but others have contours indicating the saddle is at 670m. These pages have decided to use 604m since this is in accordance with major mountain sites (e.g. peakbagger.com).

Schafberg is a very prominent mountain located between the two lakes Wolfgangsee and Mondsee, east of Salzburg, and offers fine views. There is a mountain train running to its summit, and at the summit there are several places where you can buy good food.
