Storehaugen is a big
rounded mountain located south of Sogndal, on a peninsula in the
Sognefjorden fjord. There are two tops on the mountain, where the
northern top is a little higher than the top with the big masts on it.
This latter top is referred to as Storehaugfjellet on the maps, and one
can assume that the height given on the maps (1213) refers to the height
at the top of the highest mast.
The Sogndal airport is located at a flat section on the southern slopes
of the mountain.
