From the main junction by Onarheim church, on the east coast of the island Tysnes, drive 1.0 km south and turn left towards "Espevik". Drive another 2.5 km and park on the right hand side of the road where a service road starts.
Walk the service road, which is covered with grass, all the way up to the small telecomm installations at the summit.
Descend by reversing your ascent route.
After a wet (on several fronts!) and windy Saturday I was happy to wake up to slightly better conditions this Sunday morning. We were staying in Svein's nice cabin above Onarheim, and I saw the opportunity to bag a small top before making breakfast to the rest of the team. All it took to hike Barmehovda was a 4 km (x2) drive and a short walk up an old service road. Despite being a forest top there are some views from the summit, which made me hang on to the summit for a couple of minutes before heading back down, and then back to the cabin for some serious breakfast cooking.
