  Biskopåsen trail head by Håkenåsen.

From the south part of Lillehammer drive approximately 12 km south on road 213. When you pass the left exit to Brøttum continue another 500 metres and turn left where signed for "Bekkevold". Follow this road uphill and through a sharp right curve, and drive in total 6.4 km. Turn left onto a farm road and park well before the farm. You should ask for permission to park here.

Start your hike by continuing on the farm road up past the houses and then immediately turn left, and then follow the farm road right. Turn left onto a path, marked by plastic ribbons, 450 metres from the farm. This path will take you up to the view point 100 metres south-east of the summit. From the view point walk 60 metres back to the highest point on the path, turn left, and find the unmarked summit some 60 metres west of the path, amongst the trees.

Descend by reversing your ascent route.

24. August 2013

This was Saturday during our annual fishing week-end, this year being held at Tore's cabin by Mjøsa. I decided to go for a short hike to Biskopåsen, which I had located on the maps a couple of days earlier, after breakfast and some morning fishing. And to my pleasure Jan Christian and Stig wanted to join me for some easy exercising. Since we needed to drive to get to the trail head we would also do some shopping at the local store at Brøttum.

Unfortunately we took a wrong turn at Brøttum and ended up driving a long de-tour, and had to ask for directions several times before we eventually found the planned trail head. From here it was a nice and easy hike up to a view point partly covered by trees, and then some searching inside the forest to see if the true summit was marked in any way, which it wasn't.

After the hike we took the direct route back to Brøttum, where we bought a few articles, before going to Lillehammer to get the motor oil they didn't have at the Brøttum shop. Then back to the others and a refreshing swim in Mjøsa, and more refreshments in the form of a cold beer.
