From the ferry port at Fedje turn right and drive around the church, following signs for "Stormark". Turn left towards Stormark a little more than 200 metres from the ferry and drive another 2.5 km along the road that crosses the island from north to south. Locate a small car park on the left hand side of the road (there is another similar place a few tens of metres along the road). Park here and walk east on a vague path. Once you have ascended the first few metres from the road you will see the summit, and the vague path will take you there.
Descend by reversing your ascent route.
This year's fishing trip made me go to the island Fedje for the first time, and the only hiking opportunity of any interest, except walking along the coastal rocks looking for good fishing spots, was to visit Fedjebjørnen. On Friday night, after having enjoyed good food and matching drinks, Morten and I agreed to do the hike to Fedjebjørnen, followed by a swim in the sea, before breakfast Saturday morning. But by Saturday morning Morten threw in the towel so I set off on my own.
Locating trail head wasn't straight forward since I wasn't sure exactly what was the highest point, but good advice from a man out on his morning walk told me where to park and start my hike. After the short hike I drove back to our rented cabin, where none of the others had got out of bed yet. I therefore went for this year's first swim in the sea without waiting for any other potential swimmers. Then I got started on the breakfast and the others slowly appeared on the scene, preparing themselves for a long day of fishing and various competitions.
