From the intersection of roads E39 and 60, a few hundred metres north of Grodås, drive E39 12.7 km in the direction of Kvivstunnelen and Ålesund (north), and turn right towards Bjørke after you exit the tunnel. Then turn left in the junction after 20 metres, again signed for Bjørke. Drive 11.4 km to Bjørke centre and turn right up "Bakketunet" immediately after crossing the small bridge. Drive 600 metres uphill and turn left, and drive 260 metres to the car park on the left hand side of the road. Park here.
Start your hike by crossing the road and follow the forest road up on the left hand side of a small house. Turn right after 70 metres and follow this service road 1.2 km up to the saddle at 240 metres. Turn sharp left and follow the forest road north-west. When the obvious forest road ends continue uphill on a rough forest road. When you get up to flatter terrain at 320 metres turn a little right and continue north along Kamben's wide south ridge. You will find a vague path a little above 340 metres, which will take you to the unmarked summit amongst trees.
Descend by reversing your ascent route.
Kjetil and I had hiked Skaphornet earlier this misty afternoon but still decided to throw in Kamben as well. Unfortunately we were not prepared at all, but a phone call to Arnt from trail head confirmed we'd found the right trail head. A second confirmation was provided by a local lady, but we misinterpreted her directions and ended up on a de-tour at the end of the forest road.
When we got up to a small plateau at around 335 metres the visibility was down to a few tens of metres, and initially we thought we had found the summit. I then made some more phone calls, while eating cloudberries, and eventually found out we had another 600 metres to go to the summit. At the summit we took a couple of photos before heading back down.
