From Nesbyen drive west towards Tunhovd, and then follow signs for Nystølen. From Nystølen follow signs for Båtstjernli. There are several places you can park around trail head.
In order to complete this hike you really need a map, since there are a lot of path junctions. If you do this hike in a clockwise direction you start off by aiming for Kvasshovda, which you can see from trail head. From Kvasshovda you will have a good overview of the rest of the route.
Day three at Håvard's cabin above Nesbyen, and another grey and windy day. We therefore decided to change plans from Ranastongi (1900 metres) to some small local tops. We only had a short spell of light rain, but throughout the hike it was windy and grey. After the hike we stopped at Nystølen and treated ourselves with sausage, chips and a beer (coffee for Håvard, the driver).
