Drive road 569 to Skjelten and take the ferry across to Austnes at Haramsøya. From Austnes drive 6.4 km towards Rogne. You will see a mountain road on your left hand side. Find parking here.
Start walking by following this mountain road up the zigzags and then across the plateau until you get to a small lake. Immediately after the lake there is a path forking off to the right, which you follow to the summit.
The descent follows the ascent route.
I had a meeting at Longva this Monday, and had packed my hiking gear before heading from home. Straight after the meeting I drove to Indreflem and hiked Skulen. Back at the car I immediately drove to Ulla and started my hike to Mannen. The hike was relatively boring from this side of the island, staying on the mountain road almost all the way to the summit, and with very limited views.
