  Parking at Hauge.
Start of mountain road at Hauge.

From Ålesund drive road E39 east to Sjøholt. Drive through Sjøholt centre, and turn right onto road 650, signed for "Geiranger" and "Stordal". From this junction drive approximately 45 km on road 650 to Sylte (this road becomes road 63 east of Linge). When road 63 does a 90° left turn in Sylte, heading up the Valldal valley, continue straight ahead through the tunnel, towards Tafjord. 3.2 km from the Sylte junction turn left where signed for "Selboskar". Drive this road 3.9 km as it zigzags its way uphill, and then turn right down to a signed car park. Park here.

Walk back up to the road and turn right. Then proceed a little more than 300 metres along this road and turn left onto a gravel road. Follow this gravel road 2.3 km to Nysætra. Turn left here, onto a path signed for Mefjellet. Follow this very good path all the way to the summit. The summit is marked by a cairn and a trigonometric point marker. You're also likely to find a summit registration book.

Descend by reversing your ascent route.

28. July 2011

This Thursday produced yet another foggy day, so we decided to leave Fjellsetra and go back home to Brattvåg. I did a quick check with my friend Øyvind about weather conditions at Bjorli, and he reported sunny conditions. Hence I decided to drive home via the Stranda-Liabygda ferry, assuming that sun could be found in that area. This didn't quite work out, but as I gained altitude I started to get more sun than not. Unfortunately there was a steady re-fill of fog coming in across the mountains, so my views were limited.

I waited at the summit for 35 minutes in hope of getting a good 360° view, but then gave up and ran back down to my car.
