  Mynydd Nodol trail head.

From the A494/A4212 junction in the village Bala drive road A4212 1.0 km north-west. Turn left where signed for "Llidiardau" and drive another 6,8 km to a small car park on the right hand side of the road. Park here. Note that this is immediately after a cattle grid.

Start your hike by heading up to the nearest power mast, and then towards the stone fence leading towards the summit. You might find some sheep tracks, but the most important thing is to avoid the heather as much as possible. Head north when you get to the summit plateau, and you will find the large summit cairn.

Descend by reversing your ascent route.

16. March 2013

While descending Arenig Fawr a little earlier I had noted a top that seemed to offer a short hike to a top with primary factor of more than 100 metres, and I decided to include this top before driving back to my hotel in Bala. The slight risk I was taking was that I couldn't see the east side of the top, and hence there was a danger that the summit I could see from west was just a small top with a higher top further behind. And with no map I couldn't check to be sure, so ended up having some risk to my ambitions of bagging a ranked top.

Thanks to a helpful local I got advice on where to park, and where to walk, and I reached the summit in less than 20 minutes. To my delight I could see that the top had at least as much drop on the east side as on the west, and I was happy to have bagged a bonus top.

The weather had improved throughout the day, and by now it was just grey, and I got a reasonable view of the surrounding area. This was captured on my memory card before I descended at a relatively good pace. Then back to the hotel for some food and plenty of water and Coke.
