From the round about in the centre of the town Sisteron drive south on road D53 3.9 km. Turn right when you hit road D946 and drive 4.0 km. Then turn left, again onto road D53, where signed "Pas de la Graille". Drive 23.6 km to the pass at 1597 metres, making sure you fork left 2.8 km after leaving road D946. Find parking at one of the several small car parks in the pass.
From the pass head west (right as you get up to the pass), and locate a path on the right hand side of the road. This path runs on the south-east ridge of Sommet de Lure, parallel to the road. Follow this path all the way to the summit, which can be found on the north (right) side of the fenced in telecom masts.
From the summit head south and down to the road, on an obvious path, and then follow the road back to your car.
Sunday and our second full day in Provence. And our second hike of the day,
after having done Tete Grosse in the morning. The hike to de Lure consisted of a
fair bit of driving, but also a nice ridge walk from the pass at Pas de la
Graille to the summit. To make the descent a little more than just following the
ascent route back to the car we decided to follow the road back to the pass.
