  Storfjellet trail head above Angvika.

Start measuring from the round about east of Molde centre where roads E39 and 662 intersect (this is approximately 0.8 km along E39 from the ferry port). Drive E39 east in the direction of Trondheim:

- At 18.5 km leave E39 by continuing straight ahead on road 62.

- At 32.0 km turn left onto road 665, signed for "Angvika".

- At 51.8 km you pass the left exit to Angvika.

- At 52.0 km turn right onto a gravel road.

- At 53.7 km park at the car park at the end of the road.

Start your hike by walking 50 metres back down the road and turn left onto the path signed for "Storfjellet". Follow this path, which is marked by red paint, up to the path junction at 380m after 1.3 km. Fork right here and continue all the way up to the large summit cairn at Storfjellet. From Storfjellet walk 220 metres back down the path and turn left (west) and find the best route down to the right (north) of lake Tomtjørna. It's best to stay quite far right when you get down to the flat section in order to avoid the most boggy sections. There's also a river crossing that might require some care when there's a lot of water. When you get closer to Åbakkfjellet find your best route up the path-less terrain.

From Åbakkfjellet head more or less directly south to the top Hammardalshøgda (522m, PF=54m). From Hammardalshøgda head south-east towards lake Fosnatjørnin. Pass the lake on the left (east) side and head directly up to Fosnaheiin's summit cairn.

From Fosnaheiin head north-east towards south-east of Storefjellet, across a number of low ridges. Head down to the saddle between Storefjellet and the small top Turtlihøgda (446m, PF=68m), and then up towards Turtlihøgda on its south side. A little after you've started the ascent you're likely to pick up a vague path marked by red paint. Walk a little past the summit and then turn left and walk a little back up to the summit. From the summit of Turtlihøgda descend back down to the path, turn left and follow the path out to a viewpoint where you'll find a registration book.

From the view point walk back a few metres and fork right onto the path running on the north side of Turtlihøgda. This path will take you down to the path junction where you forked right during your ascent to Storfjellet, and from here follow the path back down to the car.

22. June 2014

The plan for this Sunday was to hike Skåla (Molde's highest mountain) together with Amund (I had stayed in his house since late Friday). But because of miserable weather, with rain and wind, and snow down to 6-700 metres, we decided to go for a plan-B. This plan-B turned out to be a bit longer and quite a bit more strenuous than planned, but at the same time we were quite happy to have completed the hike despite the rough conditions.

After the hike we drove back to Molde where I picked up my belongings, and then down to the ferry port with a few minutes to spare before the ferry set sail for Vestnes.
