If arriving Molde from the Vestnes-Molde ferry, drive towards Kristiansund and Trondheim on road E39 for 4.8 km from the ferry port. Then turn right onto road 64, signed "Eide" and "Elnesvågen". Continue 1.9 km before turning right towards "Eide" and "Årødalen". Turn left 400 metres later towards "Nordbyen" and "Skitrekk", and turn right 500 metres later towards "Skitrekk". Drive another 500 metres until you get to the car park.
From the car park walk uphill, and then left (west), passing the bottom of the longest ski-slope. From here you will see the mountain road that will take you all the way up to the telecomm installation at the first top. From this first top continue down into the valley between the telecomm-top and the actual summit of Tussen, in a northern direction, and then continue to the summit. There is a big cairn at the summit.
The descent is best done via the ascent route.
We went to Molde this Boxing day, together with my parent in law, to visit my father-in-law's niece and her family. A trip to Molde meant an opportunity to visit a totally new region mountain-wise. I therefore left Brattvåg a couple of hours before the rest of the gang, almost immediately after my morning hike to Heimste Synnalandsheia.
The hike up to Tussen was extremely mixed weather-wise; at the beginning it was partly sunny, at the summit it really was snow storm, and on my way down it was calm but little visibility. If I had known it was as much snow as it actually was in the mountain I would have brought my skies, but the snow was relatively firm so walking wasn't too bad.
On my way down I met a lady close to the summit, but because of the storm I don't think any us felt like stopping for a chat.
Back at the house of my father-in-law's niece I was provided a hot shower and an excellent Christmas brunch. Wonderful!
