Start measuring from the round about east of Molde centre where roads E39 and 662 intersect (this is approximately 0.8 km along E39 from the ferry port). Drive E39 east in the direction of Trondheim:
- At 4.1 km turn left in the round about, towards Eide.
- At 15.8 km fork right towards Eide.
- At 31.0 km turn left where signed for Bollia.
- At 31.2 km turn right.
- At 31.3 km turn left where signed for Stortua.
- At 31.6 km turn left immediately after having crossed a small bridge.
- At 31.7 km park on the left hand side of the road.
Start your hike by heading uphill and a little right and walk trough a gate (this is at the end of the short road). Turn right and follow the upper flood lit road approximately 140 metres. Turn left onto a path and follow this (boggy) path 1.2 km to a signed junction. Fork right and follow this path all the way to the cairn holding the summit register. From here continue another 170 metres west/north-west to the true summit.
Descend by reversing your ascent route.
After the morning hike to Raudtua we headed across to Eide in order to hike Vardhågan (Silsetfjellet). We set out just after noon and reached the summit in just over an hour. This time we spent a fair bit of time at the summit, enjoying the great weather and some sandwiches. Then back down to the car and the drive back to Molde. Another great hike!
